Compliant Fire Door Surveys
Here at Norfire, we carry out comprehensive fire door surveys and inspections for all types of buildings across East Anglia, helping property owners stay compliant with current fire safety legislation.
Under Article 17 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, all fire doors in non-domestic buildings - including offices, schools, hospitals and rental properties - must be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair. This also applies to residential buildings such as HMOs and private properties with three or more floors.
Fire doors are an essential part of a building’s passive fire protection system, designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke, particularly in escape routes.
Over time, and especially in high-traffic areas, fire doors can suffer from wear and tear, damage or incorrect repairs - any of which can significantly compromise their performance in the event of a fire.
Certified Fire Door Inspections
As a BM Trada Q-Mark accredited company for fire door maintenance, Norfire carries out inspections in accordance with strict third-party certified standards.
Our team uses a digital 25-point checklist to assess every component of the door, including hinges, seals, closers, gaps and signage. Faults are clearly photographed and recorded, with detailed explanations to help you understand what action is needed.
From this, we provide a clear plan for any remedial work required, helping you maintain full compliance and ensure you are doing all you can to protect both lives and property.
We also offer site measuring services for new fire door sets, along with troubleshooting support if you’re unsure whether an existing door meets current standards.
